Global warming is real people. Don’t let anybody tell you differently. The extreme heat waves and extreme winters are enough proof that we need to do something to make a difference. Mama earth constantly takes care us and it’s time to start taking care of Mama.
Switch from Plastic to Glass Water Bottles
Plastic water bottles are great, they look cute etc but what happens when you discard them? They end up in landfills and release harmful chemicals into the environment. Glass on the other hand is fully recyclable and helps mitigate climate change.

Get Rid of your Stash of Plastic Bags
I am talking to all my Cameroonians/Africans. We do not need a plastic bag full of plastic bags. Get a reusable bag and use it when you go grocery shopping.

Recycle
This is the most simple one, separate you trash and recycle. If something that’s recyclable contains food in it, please do not recycle it. Here is a list of things that are recyclable. I know I used to be so confused on what to recycle when I started recycling. (how many times can I say recycle in one section lol)
Use Stainless Steel Straws
Every time we limit the amount of plastic we use, mother earth thanks us. If you are a frequent straw user, just get a stainless steel straw and use it as needed whenever you buy your favorite drink. They are also super easy to wash and can be purchased here.

Get a Pitcher with a Water Filter Instead of Buying Bottled Water
Do you know how much money you will save per year if do this simple switch? Getting a pitcher plus the filters cost about 40$ a year. Buying bottled water cost about 240$ per year for a one person household and 960$ for a 4 persons household. What else can you do with this extra money if you make the switch?

Opt for Paperless Bills
If you have access to technology and can get your bills online instead of in the mail, enroll in paperless bills. Majority of us pay our bills online anyways, hence we don’t need paper. Additionally, if you enroll in paperless bills, you don’t have to worry about properly discarding the bills to protect your personal and sensitive information. Also, you are helping to save resources spent on recycling as well as saving a tree. If you can’t plant a tree, at least safe one!
What are some of the ways that you are helping the planet? I will love to hear from YOU!
